Hi all
I have got a Juwel rekord 70 tank with a 600 pump. I want to start setting the tank up, I know I need to buy a solution that I need to put in the water to start it cycling but I don't know what it is called, I am from the UK so I would need a UK brand. I hope my question makes sense.
I will also be transferring my blackmoor to it but I have been told that it would be better to leave the tank cycling for a month until I do this - is this right ?
and advise would be great - thanks all.

Hi
I used a product called cycle to get the filter going and theres one called bio-mature.
Maybe if you could run your old filter in the new tank for a few hours each day then this would help seed the new filter. Also using the old gravel will help as well.
When cycling its a good idea to test your tank water each day to measure the levels of ammonia and nitrite and keep a diary of your results.
I wouldnt add the fish until the tank has finished cycling.
Also to keep the ammonia level up you could add a few flakes to the intake of the filter each day to quicken things up a bit.
