I have extremely hard water. Good for my snail. I need some calcium for her and I can't find any anywhere. I was going to get some cuttle bone, but we didn't go by any petstores this weekend. I broke the eggshells and put them infront of the biofilter so the eggshells are the last thinkg that the water flows over. Will this dissolve well?

Egg shells are a good source of calcium but a little messy. They're fine for the moment though. When you get a chance grab some cuttle bone. I have 2 pieces in my biological filter so that the water runs over it all of the time.
You're fine for now though so don't worry.

Eggshells will work okay over time.I also think that they're a little on the messy side, but that's just me.It's so much easier adding Calcium Drops or even crushed Coral to your filter or your substrate. The Liquid Calcium runs about 8 Bucks or so,but will last a very long time.

I bought a 10in piece of cuttlebone at Petco on Wednesday. I'll break or cut a chunck off and put it in the filter.
