Should i get an oscar or a goldfish?
vmlola
smile.gif Well I guess that depends on what your going to put it in with! exactly.gif

I really have become so smitten with goldfish that I couldn't see myself getting anything else, no offense to my tropical tank(sorry guys).

Do you already have your tank set up and whats in it?

smile.gif Well, then I would go for goldfish! heartpump.gif There are so many beautys to choose from! Remember when you decide on a tank, that for each goldfish you have(and you can never have enough rolleyes.gif ) you will need at least 10 gal of water. So if you set up a 10 gal tank, you could have one goldfish!

Good luck choosing!

smile.gif There is no way that we can make that decision for you.I would research them both, and check out their requirements, and go from there. They both have the ability to get rather large. rolleyes.gif laugh.gif

A full grown oscar needs at least 55 uk gallons so that would put it at around 60 US gallons.
Oscars have great personalities but are just as messy if not messier than goldfish, so filtration needs to be really good.

Oscars are neat fish but Goldies are our special love here! Some people (one of my sons included) see my big tank(100 gals) plus my other one (29 gal) both house goldfish and express that I SHOULD get "neater fish". They just do not know how NEAT goldfish are. But usually when they watch mine awhile they see the personalities & understand.
