Why were you taking your fish out for a water change? I always leave mine in, its less stressful for them.

I cant help you with the tail though. Someone else can Im sure. smile.gif

umm..i donno..i vacume my tank very danger..so..i'm always scare that i might suckmy goldfish up or any thing..and..i mkae alot of noise..so..ithought i might be toi streesfull for them with allthose noise..but..thanks..

the red in the tail will go way i would add some strees coat into the water

and keep your fish in the tank when you change water if you think you make to much noise then just go slower and more carefully

I think you found a good reason NOT to take your fish out during a water change. I hope your fish is ok. I use a Python to suction out the water & ecky stuff. I shove stuff aroung & clean but my fish are fine!
Ricky651
oh..okey..so..the bloode streak will go away if i have good water and should i salt it..or no..or jux use stress coat??

Skip the stress coat - it's got aloe vera in it which is not good for the fish's slime coat.

Do you know what your water parameters are? If I remember correctly, I am not sure you have test kits at home?

Hopefully the veining is just the result of stress. I would watch your fish closely and see if the veining increases over the next few days.

If it gets worse, you can salt the tank at a low level, up to .1% for a week or two. You need to use aquarium salt, sea salt, pickling salt. You shouldn't use table salt as it has anti-caking agents which is a no-no in the fish tank.

Keep us posted.

And yeah - you can leave your fish in the tank while you vacuum. I do it all the time.

oooh..why is aloe not good for fish??If i can use stress coat..then what do i use to give my fish slime coat then??
Ricky651
opps..sorry..i mean can't..in my top post

Over time, Stress Coat can clog your fish's gills. Thus, making it difficult for your fish to breathe.

Over a reaaaaally long time, and there's not really a definite proven case of that happening, I think.

Stress coat is ok, but not recommended. Use Prime instead or sodium thiosulphate

Just wanting to add that you have to use something to get the chlorine out of your tap water before adding it, so if Stress Coat is all you have keep using it until you get another water conditioner. I don;t think Stress Coat is too bad, but if you have a sick fish, especially one who is having trouble breathing, I;d definitely stay away from it. I like Prime myself, besides removing the chlorine and stuff from the tap water, it can make ammonia and nitrites less harmful to your fish during cycling. Good luck!

P.S. Do you still have one koi left?
Ricky651
yep..ut i have 3 tank..so..the other 55gallon is in my living room..the koi the 75gallon is in my room..and..i have another 40 or 50 gallon in my parent room..okey..k0ol...i do have prime...btw..so prime work jux fine as stress coat then??right??

Well blink.gif ...yeah, u should know if u follow ur own thread, prime works as well if not better than stress coat
