As the title suggests, how does one go about getting rid of scum on the water surface. It looks like a thin layer of brown film and even having a good deal of tubulence at the surface isn't doing any good. Any idea? Whew, haven't been here in a LONG while.

Turn off filter and any air pumps and wait for the surface to settle. Use paper towels to gently blot the scum off the surface of the water.
