I bought my bristlenose some hikari algea discs instead of the tetra brand and the hikari clouded my tank up big time! Just thought y'all might want to know.

Hm, that is interesting... Are those discs somewhat softer than the brand you used to have? How many did you put in?

Hi, I use Hikari algea discs for my plecos and for a treat for my goldfish and have never had the cloudiness problem! How long did they sit on the bottom of your tank before the fish ate them?

Strange! I use them in my tank for my cories and have had no problems at all.
I just drop them in and those that don't get caught by a passing goldfish just sit on the bottom until the cories get there.
My ex housemate also fed them to bristlenoses and clown plecs with no problem at all. He now uses the larger ones for his gibbiceps and again his water is clear as a bell.
Maybe you got a bad batch.

I fed him two discs and he latched on to one immediatly and the other one was gone when I woke up . He's kinda big so he eats a lot! Maybe I did get a bad batch or something. It was just the weirdest thing I woke up (I feed him at night) and my betta tank (10 gallons) was cloudy and I had to do a massive water change and the only thing I did differently was switch brands of alage discs.

I use them for my golden pleco and between him, the frogs and my cory they eat them quickly so I never see any cloudiness!
