I am going to try to gradually bring the salinity down in Orchard's tank to zero and so I can have some zeolite. I originally thought a sponge filter with a cycle would be ideal, but it was so noisy and Orchard did not like even a little bit of bubbles. When using ziolite, can it just sit effectively in the corner of my tank? I'm not sure if it needs to have the water pass thru it (like carbon would) and I don't want to put it in a filter...that would be defeating the purpose rolleyes.gif

when i used zeolite, i actually just used it as a weight to keep my plastic plants down. i think it's most effective if it can be put into a filter, but it works too if you just put it in the tank. smile.gif

Thankies smile.gif I think I'm going to hide it in his cave...it doesn't sound like a very pretty thing lol. Do you know if the ammonia trapped by zeolite will show up on an AP drop test?
Tinkokeshi
i actually don't know about the AP test... mmm... yeah might wanna look that one up.

Ammonia is absorbed by the zeolite. The ammonia it absorbs will not show up on any test kit.

Okay thanks everyone smile.gif That's all for now
