Full Version: Narcissa Is Full Of Eggs!

Ok, I'm wondering if her being full of eggs has something to do with her bubble masterpiece.

This morning I put her next to Caviar's tank to see what would happen. She totally ignored him. He was dancing around, flaring, and making all attempts to get her attention but it was in vain, she wouldn't even look at him. So I put Fillet next to her instead, totally different story! She went nuts! At first she flared at him a little and then start to wiggle her body in an S shape. Fillet was flirting with her as well so I think I'm going to try them together. Flllet's photos never come out very well but he's very pretty.

I've had the spawning tank running for a couple days so I'm off to put Fillet in to it to let him get his barings and then I'll put Narsissa in to her chimney. I'll keep everyone posted! I'll post updates to this thread. Wish me luck!

hope it goes well! I thought bettas fight and you could not put more than 1 in a tank or is that a wise tial!

02092, males should never be housed together, and neither should males and females. Sometimes you can get away with at least 5 docile females (enough to create an even heiarchy) in a 10+ gallon tank with lots of hiding places for territories if the females are introduced to the tank all at once. Other times, it just won't work. To breed bettas, you put them in a tank SUPERVISED until they do it.

Good luck with the breeding! Narcissa must be a picky little girl, but I'm glad she found Mr. Right wink.gif They sound like they'll be a cute couple!

Wait wait...what do you mean by "her bubble masterpeice"?

Her bubble nest she built, I mentioned it in my other post. Yes she's a female. I read on another site that females that build bubble nests can aggressive and hard to spawn, don't know if it's true. I decided to hold off on trying to spawn her for now. I got a new male today and I'm going try him instead of Fillet once he's conditioned.

smile.gif I've owned a female Betta that could make better bubble nest than most of the boys I've had... exactly.gif She ended up sneaking over a divider and breeding with my Levi, and it turned out being one of the sweetest spawnings you could imagine. heartpump.gif
