i put my two cories i bought in december into my main tank and decided i wanted to get some platties to finish the tank off. so i went to the store and picked out three platties and one female guppy. i went get this old man that was in the garden section to catch my fish and omg what a horrid few minutes that was first he went for the platties he caught my first one and also another fish that was in there. when he got it out the water he just stood there with the net and put his hand under it and said he got two and asked if that's the one i wanted. i said yea, horrified cause he wasn't putting it in the water. so then he starts to put it in the cup and the way he did it was he put his hand under it so the fish was flat in his hand then he grapped it with his fingers and put it in! and while he is doing this the other fish that i didn't want was flopping around on the floor then he goes for the second platy i wanted and he ended up catching two again. he put them in the cup the same way as he did the other one and i was standing there looking horrified, thankfully he wasn't looking at me so instead of going through all that again, i looked at the second platy that i didn't pick and it looked healthy so i said i'll just take that one. then he got my guppy i felt bad cause he was old and all, but that was scarey, lol.

so anyway

they all seem to be healthy on the outside and are active. they do have whiteish poop though. i'm hoping i'll have better luck with these than my last set of fish i had got. my plans are to salt the tank and give them jungle anti bacteria food. or should i do something else?

here they are in the bag, i never realized how beautiful platies are. i'm crossing my fingers and hoping they all make it this time.

I love your new platies. They are very nice. I like the names you have chosen for them, too.

As for the white poop, you might find that after they are home with you and are being well fed, it will correct itself. White poop can sometimes be a sign of fish not being fed well.

thanks lucy and touchofsky i hope that's all it is with the poop. i did see minnie poop brown after i feed them yesterday. all are still doing fine this morning they are still scared of me though, they stay swimming in the back of the tank. they are so cute, especially minnie
