LOL I hear you… awhile ago I set up my 5 gallon betta tank with white gravel thinking it would look really pretty… not considering that it would soon be GREEN!! Do you have a light on the tnak, or is it near a window? First off figure out if theres too much light on it. You could try getting a little otocinclus catfish. Theyre good algae eaters but the ones I had never ate the green algae, only brown, so it depends on what kind you have. Other than that I really dont know, unless you want to change to a darker substrate (which is what Im considering). My other betta tank has black gravel that always looks great!

You could try a ghost shrimp in there. But yeah, he might try to eat it.

Mine tried to eat the oto I put in there!

LOL Black, brown, anything dark is the way to go! I'll probably end up switching my pretty white gravel over to brown pretty soon too. Be sure and provide some real food for the oto and snail in addition to whats on the tank. They'll eat little sinking algae wafers.
