I think that my fighies are so used to sinking pellets that they are gettin lazy! Maybe they're taking the name "fancy" goldfish too seriously and the new stuff isn't good enough. lol Is there a way I can get them used to the floating pellets without starving them, or clouding the tank?

i don't think floating pellets r good 4 gf's as they they have some air content in them which may cause problems in gf's .
thats why i soak my pellets in water 4 bout 2-3 min before feedin them to the gf's .

As fish dude mentioned, hard pellets can sometimes cause floating issues with goldfish, so soaking is a good idea. It also makes the floating pellets sink, and squishing them a bit between your fingers will ensure that they sink.
