Hi, I am new here and plan to post in New Members soon.

I am still a beginner, and so glad I found this site, as I see already you all are the pro's.

I ask lots of questions ( inherited that from my 2 year old Grandchildren) so you may try and run me off, anyway.....

just a couple for now.

How often do you feed your fish? I've read once a day, and I've read twice a day.

Also when feeding peas---have read they need to be cooked and the hull removed.
Would canned peas have to be cooked again, as they have already been cooked?
Also does the hull have to be removed if you mush or squash them up?

Thanks

Nan

Hi and welcometo.jpg ! You can ask all the questions you have and someone will be bound to help you. This site is great and lots of wonderful people post here.

I like to feed my guys two smaller meals aday. smile.gif

I rotate what they get, for example one day they might get soaked pellets in the a.m. and some nice frozen bloodworms in the p.m.. Next day they might get peas for a.m. and lettuce or zuchinni in p.m.

As for canned peas, I think theres too much sodium and thats not good. sad.gif
Frozen is best, you just keep the bag in your freezer and take out what you need.
Yes, hull them and chop or squish into small pieces.

Hope this helps.

Welcome!

I buy organic frozen for 99¢, put a few in a dixie cup with a tad bit of water for 10 seconds, drain, slice open the skin, pop out the inside and carve up with a paring knife. I have found smooshing just produces too much floating gunk.

Hi and welcome!!! Nope don't thing we'll run you off for questions, we love to help people.

I myself feed twice a day, only what they can eat within 1-2 mins. Some people go 5 mins, but some of my fish have Swim Bladder Problems and I try to avoid overfeeding.

A good thing to remember is to soak all foods, this will help them to sink and finish swelling before the fish eats them.
