Hi, I've been on this site for a few months, mainly reading the articles. Great site you guys have here. Very informative and helpful.

Anyway, I have a 29 gal tank with 5 tiger barbs, 1 gold gourami, 1 3-spot gourami, 1 pleco, and 1 rainbow shark. It's probably crowded. I have the tank for about 4 months. I haven't tested the water parameters but I do 30% water change weekly, rinse the filter while I'm at it.

The size: gold 6 cm, 3-spot 4cm.

So does anyone know how fast gourami are supposed to grow? I have these for 2 months now, so I'm just wondering since I don't see they are growing at all, at least not as noticeable as the barbs.

Thanks.

Both will reach 15 cm when fully grown but I think it might take between 6 months and a year to fully get to adult size.
The barbs wil grow faster than the gouramis so maybe feed the gouramis more in the way of protein such as bloodworm but only a couple of times a week.

I will to feed the gourami some brine shrimp once a week. Hopefully they will grow faster. Thanks.

i think you should just let the fish grow at what ever pace it wants to grow at! No need in rusing the growth of a fish unless you are putting it in some show or something!
