Hi,
This is the upper part of my pond. It actually goes a little under the deck.

This is another view. What you can't see is the stream middle-right. The pond then goes around the gazebo.

Debi0825,
I loved your pond. I have a sprayer on a part on the pond that cannot be seen. In the winter I get a glacier around it and it gets about twenty feet. Do you live in a section of the country where this can happen to you?
P.S. I adored your fish.

Lachfa,
Everything went fine. I did not have any trouble accessing the link or viewing the photos. Your pond is lovely. You have a nice flow on your waterfall. What size pump are you using?
It's so fun seeing other peoples ponds. I often see things I want to incorporate.

Serpthia, thanks for the compliments. I live in central NY so the fountain goes off usually at the end of September. This year sooner since it is my filter/pump for my winter set up in my basement. All of my fish are now indoors and will go back out into the pond probably in late April or early May.

Debi,
If you are getting the rain we got yesterday - you are in for it. It flooded - but sounds like you are getting it in snow! The forecast here tomorrow is 76 F! Missouri weather - what can I say!

That is not a pond, that is a moat. All kidding aside that is one of the most beautiful ponds I have seen. And a great job on the landscaping. I could picture myself enjoying a few frosty beverages out on that gazebo. You got any fish pics and how many gallons?

That is what I thought - makes my pond look like a puddle!

How big is your pond in gallons?

jetman73,
Thank you for the lovely compliment and let me return it, "Your pond is beautiful."
My pond is approximately 6, 800 gallons. It is really not that deep, 4 ft. Maximum, but expands over large area. I was not here when the pond was dug or it would have been much deeper. It is still a work in progress and will be for a few more years. This spring I will be adding piping and a biological system, which includes a UV and another pump. The following year I will be installing a propane line just to heat the pond. You know how it goes.
Fish: Well, this is a very sore subject with me because I lost fifteen Koi late last summer. My gardener either spilt or rinsed something containing gas in my pond. There was a very traumatic rush to save them but I lost the battle. Anyway, that is how I ended up with goldfish. I put them in the pond this year to see if it was clear and would sustain life. Well, I fell in love with the Goldfish and so did the snakes. That I just couldn't stand. I think it will be a few more years before I add Koi again ... really big ones. I want to wait until I heat the pond.
Thank you for the comment on my landscaping. As you can tell everything is young and it is not fine tuned yet. The look I hope to end up with is a pond within a dense forest. With a few well manicured flower beds for an uncommon juxtaposition.
Once again, your pond is beautiful.

Black oranda,
Just in case you don't want to read through my long post, it's 6,800 gallons.

serpthia,
Your pond is gorgeous. What a treasure. And I'm so sorry to hear about your koi, and then your goldies. If I ever own a house I won't be able to resist building a pond and I feel really inspired by yours.
*sigh*
I would feel jealous but my 29 gallon is pretty awesome.

Thanks serpthia,
I am sorry about what happened too your koi but you have way too much water too not add maybe a tosai or two. Tosai are a roll of the dice but you never know. Now is the time of year for them.
I know what you mean about a work in progress and can't wait too see what modifications you make. I would have went deeper on my pond until that water table started creeping up. Just keep that in mind since I see a lot of water behind your site. You will know doubt be happy with the UV. What part of the country are you in?
Once again: very beautiful
