Full Version: Is It Possible To Build A Tank Stand

hmm i'm just wondering if this is even possible. i'm sure it will be a lot more difficult than building one for a rectangular tank, but is it even worth the try? i'm not exactly a very "handy" person when it comes to woodwork, course i've never tried, so maybe i am.

the only way i can think of it being possible is to place the wood vertically to make the "bow" shape, and perhaps having the top of the stand cut out of one piece to the size of the tank. (this part will be difficult...)

anyway... so is this even a good idea? or should i just save up and buy a stand? dry.gif

Your idea sounds like it would work. A rectangular stand with a bowfront tank shaped top to it. That would look pretty cool biggrin.gif

It would be hard to do. I personally would save up for the tank, but then agian I have no skills in tank making or anything that doesn't come in a kit with detailed directions laugh.gif

I dont see why you couldn't build a stand, like any old regular stand, but instead for the front peices, use wood larger then intended so you would be able to cut out the shape of your tank. Im not sure Im explaining this right lol, but I have a vision in my head...

haha yeah its difficult to explain the mental picture. biggrin.gif

Actually, thinking more about it, just like I said, but add an extra leg at the front for support.

K - I'll DRAW my mental image later or tommorow when I have time. tongue.gif
