Phew! I have had my new tank for quite a while but the stand was too wobbly to trust. I finally bought some cinder blocks since my babies were so overstocked it couldn't wait another day. That sucker weighed a ton empty... not to mention lugging cinder blocks up to my apartment and pouring approx. 400 lbs of water into it. My muscles are so sore they feel bruised to the touch.

BUT.... I have 4 very happy fish. heartpump.gif

My betta was actually the funniest. He went from a 2 gallon to a 10 gallon tank. He just swam back and forth like he couldn't believe how much space he had. He even played in the current of the filter, which as I understand it, is unusual for bettas.

I just wanted to share how out of shape I am and how happy my fish are. This hobby is really a great one for anyone who needs a bit of exercise. biggrin.gif

Not for a while.... first I need to get a camera, then I need to decorate it in way that I would want to show it off. I don't have the cash to do what I would like right away. I just had to get them into something bigger urgently. Right now it is bare bottom, which I like, but nothing I have in it is taller than a third of the way to the top. So, basically, theres river rock, lots and lots of bubbles, and very short silk plants. Some day, I will get some HUGE drift wood, better lighting, and plant the tank with clear glass pots. I promise, when I get there, there will be pictures. smile.gif

YAY! Andrea, I'm so happy you finally got your babies settled!

My betta sometimes plays in the current from the filter, it took him a few months to get up the courage though - your guy is a brave one!

I think my betta is just so excited to have all that space to himself. He is in a tank 5 times bigger than his old one. I am hoping it makes a big difference with his fin rot issues. I needed to make this move with my fish as much as they did. They relax me so much now that I can watch them without the guilt of knowing they are overstocked and miserable. biggrin.gif They are free and so am I. *sigh of relief* My telescope (former black moor) even laid eggs over the entire tank within a day. I guess she was blessing her new home with her fertility.

Thats not all that uncommon once they are used to the amount of space. Mine does it all the time. Hehehe its funny to watch tho!!

Congratulations on you new setup. I know what you mean about being out of shape. I don't even want to think about me carrying cinder blocks up the stairs.

It's a good feeling when your fish have lots of space and you see them happy smile.gif

Have fun decorating your new tank.
