I have a 46 gallon tank and two Penguin 200 with bio wheels - these filters appear (to me) to have an extra space that I can use to put ceramic rings in to help with good bacteria BUT at the pet store, the guy told me if I do that I will hurt the filter because it is not made for that - I don't trust pet store/fish store employees - I trust people at Koko's who truly care about their fish and know what is best..so...I am asking - anyone familiar with what I am talking about...and....would it be a good idea to add the "extra media" - HELP EXPERTS!

I just recently purchased the same filter and there is a card that came in the packaging that says:
"room for two - and twice the filtration power...drop another Rite-Size cartridge in this extra media slot for performance plus filtration".

So, I have 1 filter cartridge and Matrix Media behind it.
And so far so good! I think it's been about 2 weeks...
