What should i put on the 3 levels of my canister?

Well... in a couple of my cannisters, I have activated carbon in the bottom 2 then noodles in the top 2 and my foam is to the side... Now in my other cannisters I have noodles on the bottom, activated carbon in the middle and foam in the top...
What kind of filter is it?
