I needed some spirulina for my fish and I found this stuff at the LFS. HBH Super Soft Spirulina. The HBH web page doesn't even show it on there so I don't know if it is new or discontinued or what.
Looks like good stuff. It's sinking and is called a "Frozen food alternative". First ingrediant is spirulina algea then whole fish meals. Has Omega 2 & 6 fatty acids, vitimins, etc.
Doesn't say anything about goldfish on it. Has anyone ever heard of it? There ain't much in the www about it.

Sounds good! To put spirulina as the first thing in the list of ingredients means that it's the main ingredient in the food.

,
Yeah the ingredients sound great. Any Spirulina products I have found are low down on the ingredients list.

Thanks for the replies!
My fish likes it. I'm still working out how much to feed him as he's new to the sinking food. I don't think he sees really well anymore so it takes him a while to find the tiny pellets. But he's happy to forage in the gravel. I am trying to get him trained to eat out of a dish and he's doing pretty good so far. It takes him about 30seconds to chew each pellet so does that mean I should feed him just four pellets twice a day(30 * 4= 120 seconds or 2 mins)? He's almost 8" long and these are Pro-Gold sized pellets (which I am also feeding him alternately).

I too have been using the HBH spirulina. I have had good luck with it. I especially like it because it is soft and moist.

I think that at his size you could get away with four pellets three times a day. But its hard to tell with large fishies.
How big are the pellets?

I guess they are a little smaller than Pro-Gold. Something like 2.5mm diameter X 3mm long. They are so soft that they aren't very regular. The Pro-Gold....well actually I have "Jump Start" as I gave him anti-biotics a little while ago....are around 2.5mm diameter x 4.5mm long.
He seems like slow eater. Chews a long time. Maybe all the years of flakes have made it hard for him to chew pellets. If I soak them a long time we likes them better. If they are too hard he spits them out.
