Well its not really noise coming form the air pump, I think its coming from the airstone. I like to keep it on, because it is pretty and the fish love it, but it is so loud. Any suggustions?

air stones are notorious for their noise especially if its near the glass....
move it away from the tank walls or replace it with a bubble wand

If your air pump is adjustable, you can turn down the amount of air that goes to the stone. It will still bubble, still look pretty, and still lift the water to the surface as it is supposed to.
If your pump is not adjustable, you can buy a little valve that fits in line with the airhose that allows you adjust it. I found 10 valves for a dollar at PetSmart.

yup those air valves are preaty cool to have and i think if you could hang the pump in the air i think it wont do much noise that way but i dont know how will you do that. or if you put a bit presure on the air pump you will also notice that it makes less noise but im not sure it its save to put something on it:P
try difrent positions and you will soon find out whats the best position for you air pump thats all i know
