Hi, I was wondering if I fed my fish medicated fish food for a few days (I suspect he MIGHT have something) , would that make him immune to it if I fed it to him again say a few months later? I know that some fish develope immunity towards treatments after being trreated once, is this the same for the food? huh.gif

Also, is it healthy to feed them the food for prevention? Like even if they are healthy? dry.gif

Thanks! smile.gif

Fish dont have immune systems...So I think it'll be fine.

I dont see why you couldn't as long as its just a one time thing if you think they may have something. But you want to use the food for atleast the minimum time it says other wise they could become immune to it. Oh and its not good to use it as a preventive.

I believe all living things have immune systems otherwise they would always be sick and end up dying cause they dont have anything to fit the nasties.

Hmm.. I've heard about that too. Why is it that when they are stressed they are more suseptible to disease? Do parasites etc have immune systems? The second time I treated my betta for fin rot with maracyns it didn't do sqat, and I had to find a med with a different active drug. What happened there? He has chronic rot, but salt prevents/heals pretty well now.
