yay! last night my egg clutch hatched!! I didnt know what to do, so I tossed them into a kritter keeper half full of tank water and tossed dad in with them, with some pellets. I cant tell if their black or gold briggs.... to little to tell...

So now what? whats the best way to set them up? Im afraid to toss them back into the main tank, goldies may munch them!!! OMG their so tiny!!! I cant belive it worked!!!

how difficult is it to keep these tiny guys alive? some of them are adventerouse!! hence why the Kritter keeper is only half full! and how can I tell if a baby has died?

Ok, so Im gunna move them out of the kk, and into my moms fry tank... its a 2.5 with 1 gambusia baby and 2 mollies we rescued from work (their all under a 1/2 inch) and 1 black brig. its gatta filter, and that fry food is awsome stuff, the "nanny" brig has the best shell of all my snails and gets no calcuim..... plus i supplement with the pellet mix I feed my other snails... Im so excited!!!

ok, so I ended up splitting them.. some in my moms fry tank, and some in my planted ten with mom and dad... I hope they make it!!!

smile.gif Congrats on your new babies. They'll do fine eating the same veggies and food as their parents eat.The ph needs to be about 7.4 or so in order to keep their shells looking nice. They should be okay where you put them. You're right too,if your goldies would spot them, they probably would eat them. rolleyes.gif Snails like fish are sensitive to the same water problems.Snails are kind of messy too,so regular water changes/Gravel Vacs, are definately in order. biggrin.gif They need fresh veggies like Kale/Collard Greens/Zuchinni/Squash,etc. My Brigs prefer theose semi-soft too.Good luck with your babies-you'll have to post pics when they get a little bigger. wink.gif

I havnt been "veging" my briggs, because they have been more interested in my dying leaves on my plants. But I will start again. smile.gif cant wait till I can see what color their gunna be...

I hope my goldies dont go on to much of a munching spree on the babies in the ten... (its my temp home for some goldies till I get things worked out)
