I am thinking of putting my betta in my goldfish tank?
Is this a good idea?
Will the betta kill the goldfish?
Because if the betta is going to kill the goldfish then im not going to do so.
i love my fish to much! heartpump.gif

also my biggest golfish is 5inches long!
my smallest is about 3inches.
Will my betta attack these big of fish?

I would say no. The betta will prolly go after fins, no matter how big the fish are, and if the betta is small it could be eaten.

Also, they dont like filter currents very much.

Two of my Bettas are in the tanks. They do just fine, they actually run things even though they're the smallest fish! (I know I shouldn't put them together, but they do better that way, I think)

I tried it, it did not go well. Bettas will nip long, flowing fins, and mine sure did.

if you are going to put a betta with a goldfish - ONLY attempt it with females.

I put mine in my tank but later removed him, he enjoyed it but always hung out at the top, so hes back in his own bowl now. Sometimes I would see the gf nip his fins but not intentionally or anything..but he did do very well when he was in there, would greet me at the top everything morning to eat biggrin.gif

Rue and Marina swim everywhere in the tanks. Maybe it just depends on the Betta. Personally, I wouldn't put Osric (new Crowntail) in either tank because of his fins. I think Veiltails would do fine in the tanks.

i think it depends on the species...my older sister had a common goldfish, and they were "friends"! when the goldfish died, the betta did not eat or move for several days!then i had a betta, put it in with a twin tail, and we had to remove the betta because it was tearing the goldfishes fins apart!IMO,only put bettas with fish without big fancy tails.

Mine WAS a female.

I agree, it could probably depend on the betta... but have a backup plan ready just in case things go bad.
