Are bettas saltwater fish?
I have him in freshwater.

r cant they live in both?

bettas are strickly fresh water!
i have heard people call Royal Grama's "bettas", because they fight like bettas.... and their salt water....

Yep all fresh! Some bettas can even have horrible reactions when put in water with a little salt.

Salt is only used for helping the bettas with diseases and parasites, and even then the salt is very small.
Freshwater all da way!

The first Betta I saw as a kid was labled "Siamese Fighting Fish" and they where for years..... So I still have a hard time not referring to them as that!
