I was told a while back not to use fake flowers and plants from the craft section in stores because the dye used could be harmful for fish.

What if I lightly coat all the surfaces with aquarium sealant or something similar to kind of water-proof it...would that be acceptable?

I always see such neat plants and flowers there and I thought it would be fun to do a little project with that.

To anchor it in the tank Id glue it to a rock or a clump of gravel. biggrin.gif

I dont' think that the dye would bleed. In the "Hidey cave" post at the top, those kinds of plants were used.

really? I sure do worry about that...some of the flowers and stuff I like are deep colors and I wonder.....you know like how dark jeans will stain your clothes if you dont wash them by themelves when you first get them??? I dunno. I may do it just to be safe. Have you made anything like this anic?
