I have a betta with Popeye & recovering fin rot. I've been treating for 5 days now with Maracyn & tetracycline flake food.
The finrot looks much better. The popeye looks the same.
This is my first encounter with popeye so I'm not sure what to do!
Do I treat longer or????
Thanks!

I would do a water change, then a second round of the Maracyn. You could also add Maracyn II along with the Maracyn.
How does he look today?

He looks the same (he's been off the Maracyn for a day but still on the medicated food)
Does it sometimes take awhile to go away???
I'll start medicating again!
THanks!

Hopefully, he will improve with a second treatment. Just be sure to keep the water very clean, so do a good water change before the second treatment.

Already on it! (I've got a regular syphon now small enough for that size & am experimenting with battery operated syphons as well. )
I just vac'd the gravel really well & did an 80% change.
Back to meds tomorrow!!
Thanks so much!

I would highly recommend adding the Maracyn II along with the Maracyn, if you can manage it.
Please let me know how it goes.
