Which of these do you find better to use as a water conditioner?

Neither...as a long term use.
Stress Coat can be used as a water ager/conditioner as it detoxifies chlorine and chloramines.
However its continual use over long periods is a bit of a debate, some love it others dont. The reason is it contains Aloe Vera which long term can coat the gills and cause problems.
Personally i have only used it when having to handle a fish to help replace the slime coat but i dont use it as my regular water ager/conditioner...JMO
As for ammo-lock..my bottle says it will detoxify amonia at 3.0 ppm, chlorine at 7.0 ppm and chlorimines at 5.0 ppm per dose. At least it has no Aloe Vera!
However when using this product you must realise that amonia will still show up on your test kits so you really have no "real" gauge of how much is toxic as it binds it,it will not remove it from the water.
Personally I do not use it as a water ager/conditioner but I will only use it if i do a test and amonia is not to my liking and I know I can not change the water within 12 hours, then i will use it and upon coming home do a watercahnge instead. So basically I stock it as an emergency thing only.
Basically if you use it you have NO real idea how much toxic amonia is present.
There are many other alternatives around that maybe looking into is worthwhile. Depending on where you live I hope someone can give you another alternative.

thanks for your reply, i had been using the stress coat recently, so i'll try and look out for another brand that does not contain the aloe vera!
