Well I at first purchased 3 little platies at wal-mart for my ten gallon tank. The next day I was so angry that my male had jumped out of the tank from a two inch hole above the filter no_way1.gif.... cry3.gif Then I noticed that the two had mouth fungus (ya get what ya pay for...head.gif) SO I managed to rehabilitate them... or I think so- in a fungus solution bath. So I put them in the bath and turned the main tank's lights off. The WHile the fish were in the other bucket I turned the main tank's light on and there were babies!!! I suppose the two females left were already pregnant and me removing them to the other tank for medicine actually saved the babies. Now they are in a five gallon tank with a sponge filter and its only filled up about half-way. Its my first time dealing with baby fish and I don't know what food they eat!! halp! wall.gif

aww babies are so cute, i don't know what kind of food you feed them, but for my baby guppies i just breakup the tropical flakes until it's almost like powder and they eat it.

Did the platies have the babies in the med bucket??? Or were there more in the tank?

I don't know much about livebearers, but congrats!!!!!

You can get ready made food but its easier and cheaper to grind a bit of adult flake until really small or get some frozen brine shrimp, defrost it in a little water and add a little bit every 3 hours. Feeding must be done regularly, as much as 5 times in a day with small amounts.
Its also important when feeding that you do regular 50 per cent water changes every couple of days.
