I have 3 small telescopes in a 30 Litre tank.

For the last few weeks I have an Algeae problem. My lids underside is turning green, I am constantly cleaning the glass to get rid of green Algae and my bubble stone is turning really brown despite cleaning.

I have also changed 25 - 50% of the water on a number of occasions recently. Othe parameters are :-

Ph 7.8
Ammonia 0
Nitrite 0 - 0.25
Nitrate 4.0

I dont think the Nitrate itself is harmful but the tank does look messy after a few days... any ideas?

I did use a Nitrazorb bag for my Nitrite spike but the massive tea bag in the tank didnt look too great.

Thanks Peeeps

Hi,

Not much you can do about algae I'm afraid.

Perhaps cut down on the amount you feed, check phosphates? Could you be lighting the tank for too long, or is it in direct sunlight? 8-12 hours should be sufficient.
