Hi everyone!
My friends' really old Betta recently died, and she's giving away his 3 gallon with UGF to me. I couldn't resist a free tank, so I took it in and now I'm wondering what to put in it. I am new to this whole tropical fish thing, but have been interested in Mollies for while. Would a few fit in a 3 gallon? Also, do the same parameters reguarding water quality for goldfish apply to tropicals? Thanks so much!!

love goldfish
mollies like brackish water and a heater and they make lots of babies if you have males and females together.

Three gallons are kind of small for Mollies as they get to be a few inches big. And yes,Tropicals require the same params when it comes to their water readings---Ammonia 0, Nitrites 0, Nitrates under 40-better yet, under 20. PH can flucuate depending on the types of fish you get. smile.gif

Maybe a beta (but I see in your sig you already got some) so then maybe a male guppy?
Very pretty fish!!!.

Betta or a snail or two or a frog. Please no tropical fish.

I've been working so hard to keep my goldfish from being overstocked, so the last thing I want to do is crowd a tropical tank. Thanks guys! smile.gif I think I'll wait until I have more room for Mollies, and in the meantime add a nice large tropical tank to my tank wish list. Thanks again!

I'm off to get a Betta!!!
