Hi all,

I may just be being paranoid, now my lights on my tank are working I have noticed some small growths un the underside of the leaves. I have taken the plant out of the tank as a precaution and wondered if this is normal. I can scrape them off and they are not on all the leaves. Near the top of one of the leaves it looks like similar growths but they seem to have roots coming off them.
I think I will sterize it just in case. No evidence of this on any other plants.
Is this normal?
Thanks in advance.

New plants grow on the under side of the leaves and when big enough you can take the parent leaf off and add use a rubber band to tie to another piece of wood or stone.

Sandy,

Thankyou so much ,

The fern is banded onto bog wood and at the mo is sitting in the sink. The tank looks so bare without it. I though better be safe than sorry.
It's hard not to be a bit paranoid. wink.gif
So when the sprouts are big enough I remove the whole parent leaf from the plant or the sprouts from the parent leaf?

Cheers
sandy
When the little plantlets get to about two inches and the parent leaf is starting to die then take the main leaf from the plant and then wrap something all the way around so the little plantlets can grab hold.
