i wanna know how to figure out the age of a goldfish, i've been having them for two years and theres no sign of any kind of changes to the fish. ex: breeding marks, shape, etc

Pretty hard question, cos we can't really determine the age of goldfish accurately, but if u already have them for 2 years then they're mature already.
FancyFishLover
really? but i haven't seen any breeding tubercules during this spring and i dont think they're female because their anal openings are inner.

A lot of males never get their breeding tubercules, strangely enough. And some have them, and never chase another fish in their life time. Have you increased their food intake somewhat in the spring? That is one way to get them to either start chasing if they are males, or developing a much bigger, yet uneven, belly if they are females... smile.gif

i see my fish chasing another fish when they're being fed.
d_golem
mine too, but it's usually not because they're feeling particularly amorous, they're just fighting over the food biggrin.gif

food fights are fun to watch ...love to see two fish dart for the biggest flake and end up kissing each other
