my heater died overnight (some electrical haywire).
My tank went from 75 degrees F ...to.... 60 degrees F overnight.
(that's 24 degrees celcius ... to ... 15 degrees celcius)

Luckily I had a spare heater when I woke up the next morning.

My fish are inactive (resting on the bottom of the tank), but they are eating.

Will they recover ??
its sad not to see them swimming around the tank.

Give them time. It sounds as though the temp did cause them to slow down a bit. Just be sure not to raise the temp again, too fast.

Hopefully theyll start to come around again very soon. smile.gif

2 degrees per day??

also...

would it help the 'fish stress' if I turned the tank lights OFF ???

1 degree an hour is ok.

I would leave the lights on. no sense in breaking up their regular scheduleed lighting.

good luck. biggrin.gif
