More than once I have caught him upside down, pecking at the bottom of the filter and the hose to the air stone. Is this normal behavior or is he just being a super pig. I think he's after tiny little bits of food that might get stuck on the filter. He's such a pig!

He only stays upsidedown for a second or two, just long enough to get a couple pecks in and then swims off only to come back a few seconds later to peck some more. It's so funny to watch!

LOL my oranda does this, too... postitioning himself sideways and nibbling on the filter intake tube.

My fishie does this too... it makes me laugh every time. He will do it for like an HOUR a day! I dunno what he is suckin at because I clean it every time I do a water change.

I swear, these fish can convince a jury we never feed them.
