I feed my fish some peas today and i came up with two questions: should the peas have the skin removed and should they be mashed? I looked on the site but couldn't find anything specific about serving suggestiong

wait- third question: how much should i feed my five gold fish? they are all between 5 and three inches.

and : did you know fishes like moth larva? i have a moth problem so i dropped a few larva in there and once they realised they were they my fishes enjoy'em. keepin goin the food chain. hope they dont get sick.

Yes, I always "de-shell" my peas and nuke till they are soft, mash em up and plop em in.

As far as feeding them goes I would maybe feed them about 10-15 mashed peas about once a week or so. That seems safe to me..Just enough so that they all get some I guess.

With the larvea that you mentioned I really dont think that sounds like a good idea, you never know what insects carry and it might not be good to put them in a tank that is a controlled enviroment and risk getting the fish sick. unsure.gif

For me, i soak them peas in boiling water for a few minutes, de-shell, and cut them up to little pieces.

moth larvae eh....should be ok if u havent spray them any chemicals. maybe u can wash them a bit before feeding the to the goldies.

i read somewhere that the GF's stomach's is as big as their eyeballs, so maybe that could be a guide wink.gif

Except maybe not with telescopes wink.gif

Moth Larvae should be okay. I had a fluit fly/gnat problem last week. I set a bucket of water out and they all dove in and died. I fed them to my betta and tetras and they were all so happy to eat them! Also, all the flies were gone in only a few days!
