I've got Wardley Goldfish Crumble, Tetrafin Goldfish Flakes, freeze dried bloodwork, cucumbers, zuccinni and peas. What combination of these things would be the best for my fish. I've got two little goldies, each about an inch long. I don't want to feed them too much but I want to make sure they get a nutritious diet.

I'm thinking of giving them the crumbles one morning and the flakes the next morning and for their dinner every night a very little bit of each type of veggie.

Is it possible to give your fish too many veggies (without overfeeding them)? Also, how often is it good to give them bloodworms? My fish absolutely love them so I want to give them to them often but I don't want to overdo it. Any opinions would be great.

Sounds like you have a good variety! I would give peas once a week to clear our their system and bloodworms once a week (not on the same day though).

Then rotate through the other foods you have for the rest of the week.

I've been working on a goldfish diet for my fish also and this is what I've come up with:

Day 1: ProGold pellets
Day 2: Pellets and peas
Day 3: Pellets
Day 4: Pellets and peas
Day 5: Pellets and some kind of treat (I give them daphnia, blood worms, brine shrimp, etc)
Day 6: Fast
Day 7: Peas and/or spirulina and a water change

How did I come up with that? Rick from goldfishconnection.com suggested to me I feed them ProGold as a staple and peas three times a week to help keep them "regular". Then I read on this site it's a good idea to fast them once a week and follow that up with a day of fiber (again, to clean them out) and a water change.

I always feed the pellets in the morning and then the peas, treat or more pellets at night.

Also I noticed you go to MSU--how about those Spartans beating ND in OT? Quite a game--although I must admit I'm a huge University of Michigan fan so while I was cheering for MSU to beat ND, I'll be routing for the ol Maize and Blue on October 1!! (Although even I know U of M has no defense this year and it will be quite a task to beat that MSU offense!) Should be a good game--it always is!!

I know that's a group hug but it kinda looks like a huddle!!
