Is there any symptoms that all the sick fish share? Any physical symptoms? ragid fins? white patches? red marks? Behavioral symptoms? flashing around the tank unexpectedly? not eating? What does their poop look like? Are they still eating?

Just some questions to answer to get a better diagnosis happy.gif
Whirlwind
There all weak and one had white poop(havnt seen the others)My guppies sit at the bottom and by female is moving her mouth pretty fast and has BIG trouble moving-The other fish are sick to but they're still able to move a bit-Thought tehy stay around the same place sad.gif
I put the medicened I have in and dosnt seem to be helping sad.gif
My mom and my brotehr both say I shold quit topicals because I have bad luck with them...
sandy
It sounds more a bacterial problem.

What filtration are you using, how much and how often are you doing water changes, are you using a gravel vac?
How often are you cleaning your filter and is it dirty when you do?
How many fish are in it and sizes.
tinkerbell
i agree with Sands - white poop can indicate internal bacteria.

I think you might want to buy a treatment called Maracyn two, it's a broad spectrum antibiotic and treats most bacterial infections. Did you just say you added Parasite Clear recently? If you did I would wait 48 hours (atleast), do a large water change, take out the carbon in your filter, and begin with the Maracyn 2. It is a 5 day treatment and you can repeat if necessary. It's worth a shot since all your fish are sick sad.gif . The water change is really important, since you said you had a couple fish die, most likely it spread throughout the tank and fresh water I think would help. DId you add any new fish to the tank that may have brought in disease? Keep us updated smile.gif
Whirlwind
Well,I just got back from school and now my guppy is dead cry3.gif
I cant buy anything because I dont have any money and my parents cant spare any right now sad.gif
It's a 100 GPH filter(sorry,dont know it's brand but it's a wal-mart filter)
I do waterchanges once a week and vaccum gravelI havnt cleaned my filter in a long time to tell the truth sad.gif
I have,a correction,HAD 2 platys (1-2 inches) 2 guppies(1-2 inches),a danio(2 inches) and a fruit tetra(barealy an inch)
I havnt added ANY new fish in the tank for a long time-I'll go change the water right nnow and hope it helps sad.gif
sandy
Youre tank im afraid was too overstocked. Cleaning the filter is vital to stop the bad bacteria from overtaking.
Before you do any more water changes, take the filter out and clean it well in dechlorinated warm fresh water. Up the water changing to two or even three times a week and use a gravel vac each time. If you have plants or ornaments take those out once a week for better access and dont overstock. Your tank can only take about 6 inches of fish.
Whirlwind
X_X I knew I was overstocked-Buy I didnt think it was that bad sad.gif
I managed to by some Macyran 2
I'm scared of using my python because whatever's in tehre might get on the phython and when I clean the other tank it'll pass sad.gif
I'll go clean the filter now

How come only 6 inches? Just wondering. Can't a ten gallon tank take 10 inches of fish (of course depending on the type of fish)?
tinkerbell
not really - i think Sands is right, an inch er gal is too overstocked. i like to keep to about 6 inches per 10gal as a happy medium smile.gif
Whirlwind
Thanks-The last 3 seem to be doing better-But they all have white poop
Devs
sad.gif Sorry to hear of your fish probs.Did you start the Maracyn treatment? HOw long has this tank been set up?
Whirlwind
Yes,I've started the treatment-It's been set up since January-
They're doing a TINY bit better I think-The platies are moving around-
One of the platies is having trounle staying up-Like SWB-When she swims she keeps going upside down, then tries to straighten herself sad.gif
tinkerbell
whats the temp like in youre tank? sometimes temperature can affect their balance sad.gif
Whirlwind
Um,the temp is usually around 80(SOrry,cant afford a heater right now)
Well,Today my platy Hotaru died sad.gif
I had her since March cry3.gif
Now only to left-I noticed the tank was not as clear and checked the params
Amonia-0
Nitrite-I thinks it's a bit darked than .25
Nitrate-??

I think it recycling now sad.gif
I only have enough tablets to cure 8 days and it's a 5 day treatment-If I do a waterchange, wont I be taking some medicene out?
I really want Corona and Haku to survive
sandy
If you dont have a heater then the temperature will fluctuate. Do you have extra air going in to the tank as well?
Whirlwind
Yes,Except I turned it so they wouldnt have to much current while they are sick

Anit-biotics, such as Maracyn, remove all bacteria from the tank- good and bad. This may or may not affect your cycle. You should read the "Effects on Biological Filtration" in the Maracyn pamphlet. What day are you on with your treatment? After 5 days of treatment, if they do not look any better, just repeat the treatment and go until 8 days are buy another box and go until 10 days of treatment- no more than that. Than I would do daily water changes of 30% to remove the medicine for 3 days and add some fresh carbon to the filter( you did remove the carbon right?). Test you water regularly and make sure nothing spikes. Good luck.
Whirlwind
Yes,I read it happy.gif I knew it as the Maracyn-I'm on day 4 I thin-
Yes,I did take out the carbon-Now my tank is a tinsy bit cloudy 0_o
