just wondering, how does everybody measure the amount you should use?It didn't come with any measuring instrument unsure.gif
silver8328
Mine says to use 2 drops per gallon or 1 capful (5ml) for each 50 gallons (200L)

the bottle cap is the measuring instrument.

a Full bottle cap is 5 mL - each of those lines/threads/grooves in the bottle cap represent 1mL

Hiya! biggrin.gif

Im not sure of that being the product you think it is. The ingredient in Prime is called sodium thiosulfate. It doesnt matter how you get, crystal or powder form. Thats the stuff you need. Prime and Amquel plus are both made with sodium thiosulfate. It can even be made by the average chemist.

Anyway, is there an english version of the directions/ingredients on the bottle or something? I wonder because I am not familiar with that packaging at all. huh.gif

Thanks everyone smile.gif

Toothless,

it removes chlorine, chloramine, ammonia.Detoxifies nitrite and nitrate and provides slime coat and essential ions for freshwater and marine fish. That's all in english.Other than that, all instructions are in japanese. It is made by seachem laboraties,inc.usa.So is it the prime that I think it is?

That doesn't look like my bottle of Prime either...
Ponderosa Power
Wow yours looks all Japanese-like! smile.gif

I first bought the huge bottle of prime too, only to find that I couldn't accurately measure it out for my tank. I have a mini bottle as well, and use the 2 drops per gallon. Its so much easier, even for the 29 gallon tank. I haven't run out of the little bottle yet, and won't for a long time since its so concentrated, but I plan on refilling it with the big bottle of prime later smile.gif

Thanks Kissy smile.gif I don't think they sell the big bottles...this is all I found.It's a 100 ml bottle and it doesn't have a dropper sad.gif

Hiya,

Good to see you got some Prime!! I've also got a 100ml bottle and use the cap for estimating dosage.

I use Mineral Magic for my goldfish tank at home, but I seem to get through that a lot faster than Prime. Have you used that before?

Slugger smile.gif

Well, It certainly looks like the right stuff! exactly.gif

I am sure that since its touting the same effects, its the same stuff.

I use tuberculin syringes for dosing Prime and other minute amounts of liquids. You just use a razorblade or boxcutter and cut the neddle end off while maintining a small hole when done.

Then, exactly 0.5cc will be one standard dose for 5 gallons.

Other than that, here's Seachems page for Prime: http://www.seachem.com/products/product_pages/Prime.html

Hope this helps!

Thanks Pandemonium biggrin.gif

Thanks Slugger smile.gif
I haven't heard of mineral magic...sorry.I have used a lot of water conditioners like aqua safe and some made here but I haven't had good results.I have been using 2 types of dechlor and it really costs me a lot so I'm really glad I was able to get Prime.I'll just get a dropper for the measurements. smile.gif
squeeker
I forgot you're in Japan. If it says it's made by Seachem, it's the right stuff!
