After reading all about Pro-Gold, I decided to order a bag... got it this afternoon!
The problem is, my goldies are still just a bit longer than an inch... quite small
Of course I immediately realized that if I just drop Pro-Gold in, they can't even swallow some of the bigger pieces in... so I decided to break the pellets into smaller pieces.
The fishes were able to swallow it in their mouths alright, but then after they get a piece, they just kinda sit there at the bottom of the tank and seems to be "chewing" for a long looooong time... Then sometimes they'd spit it out and swallow it again...
Is this normal? It seems to me that Pro-Gold is rock-hard... do I need to pre-soak it? Anything I can do to make it easier for my small goldfishes to take?

i would soak them in the water for 3-5 minutes before feeding them. i know it can be a pain, but it does help the goldfish alot. lazy days i just feed them tetrafin crisp flakes.

I crumble the pellets with a knife or spoon for the smaller fish. I used to do the soaking, but progold falls apart so fast sometimes (okay, I probably paid more attention to the TV program than the soaking time )....
