It used to be lazers house but when Omnipharous died, i added lazer in the divided 10 gallon, so that leaves me with a spare tank and filter. What can I put in it? its 2.5 gallons. I was thinking a tetra or two or a feeder rosy red, or possibly even a guppy. What can I add and how do I care for it?

Hmm, you could add a pair of guppies( 2 males), a betta, ghost shrimp, pair of rasboras and maybe a couple neons. You can take care of it just like any other tank if it has a filter and it is cycled. Let us know what you decide.

I think that many fish would be pushing it..

I wouldn't keep any small schooling fish; they get very lonely if not kept it large groups and the tank doesn't seem big enough for a school. However, your tank seems perfect for a betta, a pair of african dwarf frogs, or a snail smile.gif Ghost shrimp are okay too, and since they produce very little waste, your could probably keep three or so with any of the others I mentioned, but they might be eaten or picked on by bettas (possibly frogs too?)

i agree w/ kissy

i just put a betta in my 2.5, and he loves it. looks like you got the betta thing covered though smile.gif i always heard put the adfs w/ slightly bigger fish, so they might pick on the shrimp; but i don't know for sure.

let us know what you decide.

I have 2 adfs in my 5 gallon tank right now. I wouldn't try and put any other fish with them if you go with adfs though o.0 I had my single male fancy guppy in there before I got the frogs and the day I added them, I seen one of the frogs nipping at my guppies tail sad.gif Such a mean little frog LoL.. I've read online the frogs are best kept in a species only tank.
Lozbug
i would say betta aswell smile.gif

I dont think Im getting anything else, I may but meh, I dont know, with school and all, I got my hands tied with my goldies and bettas allready.
tinkerbell
sounds like a sensible option, but if you were to put something in it, i would definately go for a betta smile.gif

I was hoping for something other than a betta. But yeah, I got all I can handle here. =D

Hi - I would say go with Betta but you have so many... then ADF, they are CUTE and also not high maintenance... but since you also mentioned alot of school obligations - it just might be the best thing to wait a little while! biggrin.gif Maybe you need to have the tank free for now becasue you will find something unexpected! When you hear about a rescue or see that poor Betta (or whatever type of critter) a few months from now - you will be prepared to step in! heartpump.gif

PS - Bala - where are you in MD? Sorry to sub-thread - but since you can't PM...
