I have made a few posts about my water not cycling. For three weeks I was getting no Ammonia Nitrite or Nitrate Readings. The test kit I bought came with Four tests and I only read the directions for testing PH. I did not read that for Ammonia Nitrite and Nitrates you have to wait 5 minutes for the color to become active. I was adding the drops to the test tube then shaking then tossing before color developed, I feel like such an idiot. Ammonia was on 6.0.
I done a massive water change 80% then over the next few days smaller ones 20%. I now have 0.25 Ammonia and 0.5 Nitrite 0 Nitrates and KH is 7. I also bought a second tank 20g and seperated Goldies from Danios. The three goldies now Have a 30g tank to themselves. Must read from now on. fishtank.gif

he-he, that is kinda funny... At least you got it down pat now. I'll bet your little babies are quite happy.

Do you have the kit from aquarium pharmaceuticals? I do, and I have to read the instructions on the back of the cards every time. Otherwise, I know I'd mess it up somehow... smile.gif

Wow glad you worked that out!

My amonia test takes 10 mins and the NitrAte takes 5 mins with alot of shaking before letting it sit (makes my arm hurt LOL) My PH is instant and the nitrIte takes 2 mins. Gets confusing at times when Im testing more then one tank, the kitchen bench looks like a chemistry lab!

Wow, that is even different than mine! All of mine say to wait 5 mins and the pH is instant. The nitrate is a pain though...
