Thank you. My lanlord came over to fix a few boards on the deck and thought i was watching two tv's

. I asked him if he seen my tv tank and when he told me he thought it was a real tv i started laughing. One of my son's friend's thought the same thing.

Just added Chico back to tank to see if he does ok (he had an injury, but did not know that for sure so quarantined him for a short time), will get a pic up later for you to see him, he use to have a moustache but that is gone now

. He looked like a little mexican with the moustache, i miss it.

could you post a closeup of the TV tank?
I'd assume that that's the 30 gallon tank in your sig? do you have a diagram of it?

aclose up will not show that. What I did was gut out the tube, wires, etc. Becareful taking out tube, my friend did it for me and he got electrocuted and was ill all night, but he was ok. He touched the back of the tube somewhere. Then I did the rest, I sawed off top so I can take off top to have access to thermometer, air tubing, and filter. I placed a garbage bag and glued it on the bottom going up the sides a little before putting in tank, just incase there was water spilled when doing water changes, so wood did not become wet and weaken. On the top there is an opening where the radio settings were that I took out so I could feed the fish, plastic covering it right now but want to get some clear, hard plastic with a finger hole cut in it so I can lift it for feedings. I took off the front panel of the tank, the part where you lift it up to feed fish, and left it off. I have to put off light by unplugging it because there is no room for my hand to get in there to switch it off. There might have been a better way, but just unplugging it works just fine. The 30 gallon fits in there good and the top of the tv that i sawed off fits well, thought the light hood would get in the way. There was a few pieces of wood that I had to remove because top did not fit on. I hope that helps you.

Just an Idea but I have all my aquarium lights on a timer so then you would not have to unplug all the time. Mine was just cheap and I have not had any trouble with malfunctions. Another site I was on did not trust cheap ones and they used spendier ones, but what is the worse thing to happen? The light does not come on one day no biggie.

That is what I was thinking of getting for my 3 tanks. I am going to maybe try to get one today since I am getting a little money today. I need them set for night especially, the tv tank sometimes is left on all night by my kids on the weekends sometimes. The coffee table tank is a neat idea but my kids would use it and make too much noise with cups and dishes that the fish would be too stressed.

thank you, had fun doing the tv tank. But had to get it done sooner than i thought. Went on vacation, kids at home and my 25 gallon got broken, kids knew what to do and put the fish in a plastic tub with filter heater air. When I got home I had to get the tv tank done in 1 night to put the fish in. But it all worked out, lost a few fish, but most were fine.
