are white spot and ich the same thing or are they different.. my mum had never heard of ich before and she said its probably the same thing.. i dont think i know anything about ich, how is it pronounced is it "itch" or "ick"? im so confuzed!
anywayon to the point, my new betta Sidney has one of them, i think its ich, im treating with something that treats both infections.. but im treating in a spare tank as i wasnt sure wether i could treat with Kermit the ADF in the tank, would it be ok for the frog? it would be a lot better if i could treat in the tank as it would disinfect the tank so that when i put Sid back in he wont just catch it again! and it would treat the frog who would be carrying it right?

im gonna post this in the disease thing aswell as im not sure where it should be!

thanks! laugh.gif

Yes, whitespot and ich are the same thing. As for treating, stick him back in the tank (I dunno how ADF's do but still treat him, if he looks in danger pull him) because ich is not just on the fish it floats in the water. You have to treat the whole tank because you can have eggs freeborn in the water that get in the gravel. Be sure to rinse the hospital tank thoroughly when you're done. What are you treating him with?

thanks.. the reply on this post in the disease section said i shouldnt treat the frog aswel so think im gonna put him in the goldie tank for the minute (if he'll be ok in there?) and treat sid in his tank..

darn iv just realised the frog will be carrying the white spot so he cant go on the goldie tank or theyl get it, hmm im stuck

Find a bucket and stick him in there for now maybe? I've always got 5 on hand just in case.

ok ive put him back in his tank and left the frog in there too and the frog is doing fine and not acting any different so now i spose i just need to wait and hope he gets better unsure.gif
