Just as I was begining to accept the loss of my fish, Ford, I found him! He was stuck, almost burrowed, between two river rocks. I freaked out when I saw him. He's probably been there at least 18 hours... I don't know what to do with him. Right now he's in my fish net, which managed to turn into a kind of breeder net, because he has no will to control himself, and he just floats around with the current. His fins are clamped, and he's breathing heavily. He's just laying there. There's no signs of external damage, but his whole body is kind of curved to the left.

Ammonia Level? 0ppm

Nitrite Level? almost 0 ppm. I had an odd, tiny nitrite spike (less than .2 ppm) last week, but it's almost back to the "zero" color.

Nitrate level? 5-10 ppm

Ph Level? 6.9

Ph Level out of the Tap? 7.0

Tank size(How many Gals) 29 gal

How long has it been running? 3 weeks, cycled with bugs from tropical tank.

What kind of Filtration? Penguin 170 + 150

How often do you change the water and how much? Um... I've got green water so I change it so it looks okay to me. Last change was 8/22, 8 gal. Last change before that was 8/15, 6 gal. last before that was 8/10, 6 gal. I'd say lately every 5 days, about 20%. (The extra bucket last time was not the norm.)

What kind of Water additives or conditioners? Amquel+

Any Medications add to the tank? Salt at about .14% cause I've run out and the level's going down with water changes.

How many fish in the tank and there size? 2 fish, each about 1.5 inches without tail.

Add any new fish to the tank? Not since Ford & Arthur 2.5 weeks ago.

What do you feed your fish? Random veggies, marineland goldfish pellets soaked, and tubifex worms, in a kind of "whatever I feel like" rotation.

If you can what is the chloramines Level from the Tap? Well, ammonia from the tap is 2 ppm, hence the amquel+.

Ohh, yipes...

I don't know what to say, except to keep the tank water perfect and even turn the tank lights off so he isn't stressed.

My sick fish is acting the same way, not that he was trapped betweeen rocks... but he's curved to the right. I think it's a "severe stress" position.

Good luck with the little guy...

Wow, I take it that Ford is a pretty small telescope. sad.gif

I wish there were anything I can add. Since this is a mechanical injury, theres not much you can do but wait and keep the water clean.

Oh dear! The poor little thing sad.gif
I have been folowing your other thread and was shocked when he disapeared.
Im glad you found him and sure hope he recovers.
Praying for the little guy here.

Yeah, he's still a baby, though not as small as they come by any means. I'm currently fashioning a little safe-house for him out of plastic canvas, so he can stay in the tank with Arthur and, more importantly, adequate space, filtration, and bio-bugs--since he's contagious.

Hmm... I forgot a rather important "not" in that last little bit up there.

Well, in case you were wondering, Ford still won't move himself. He is still alive though... breathing and moving his eyes and mouth every so often. He wiggles every once in a while, but not very hard, so he doesn't go anywhere. I got him to eat one pellet of food by placing it right in front of his mouth with tweezers. Fins are still clamped, but he's straightened his body out.

All in all, better, but still looking horrible.

Poor Ford! I hope he continues to get better. Poor guy is probably still a little scared.

Um... Ford died. I guess it's not too bad of a situation for him, since he wasn't doing too well before yesterday, anyways. I managed to get pretty attached to him over the past few weeks, though, so it's not a very happy thing for me... sad.gif You guys (mods) can move this thread to somewhere else, then.
