I have been looking for something other than a common pleco for almost a year now, and I could not find one, so today while in the store, they happened to have a choclate albino pleco, so I bought it.
I guess I should have waited, but it was far away, and who knows if they'll have them again...so, I was wondering if you kind people here would give me all the info you know on these little guys. I want to put him in my 55 gallon goldie tank eventually, but right now he is in a 5gal Q tank.
Should I have a heater in with him? Bubbles? any info would be great smile.gif
Thanks,
Marianne

and is it true that he won't live as long as a non albino fish?

I think the chocolate colour is only a variation of the pigment present. I dont think it'll change the life expectancy. what kinda pleco is it? a bristle nose or a rubberlip? cos in bristlenoses I've seen black & choc fishes in one tank

i don't know, it just said choclate albino...i thought that was a different breed altogether from the bristlenose or rubbernose...I was just wanting something that was not the "common" pleco because I don't want my pleco to hurt my goldies, which the commons can do.
He's not a bristlenose though, i know that.

I have actually seen a couple different Pleco Species being called"Chocolate Albino Pleco's",so it's somewhat confusing to me on which is which blink.gif One is found in the same family as the Common-Sometimes The Rhino Pleco has been deemed Chocolate Pleco,etc.....It's so confusing!!! One is said to get between 8 & 10 inches.one 7 inches,so who knows!

don't know...i'm now having doubts about putting him in my goldie tank. They love to sleep on the bottom at night, I don't want him to hurt them dry.gif
