I'm going away this weekend and I think I am a little overly concerned about my betta. I know that goldies will be fine for up to 3 days without food, but what about bettas?
I am leaving Friday mid-morning and coming back late Sunday night. I plan on doing a water change before I leave as well as feeding him right before I walk out the door. Will he be OK until Sunday night? I've left him overnight before and he's been just fine, but this is over two nights.... I worried....

i've done it before when we go camping and they always seem to be ok when i get back, but if you are worried about it maybe you can get someone to feed him for you.

bettas are fine up to a week. I've kept mine alone for 5 days w/o food before and they're fine. Just feed heavily for a few days before and make sure their tank water is clean, but that there might be some crumbs and such in the gravel for them to munch on.

OK, thanks guys!
Crumbs in the gravel? He eats everything as soon as it leaves my hand! Maybe I'll have my hubby sneak the food in, he never eats anything he touches!

well, mine were pretty messy, which is why I said that. If he keeps the tank clean, I wouldn't worry too much.

I'd assume he'd be fine for my little guy wouldn't eat for a month, then one day, decided to munch down on those grubs

. I've left him for a week also and he was absolutely fine. Your betta should be swell

I forgot to update everyone!! He was fine when I got home. He missed us though, he danced around his tank the whole night when we got home. Normally he is calm and relaxed and only dances when he thinks its feeding time. So, you all were right, he was fine!!!
