Poor Al, do you mean he sat in the store for months and no-one bought him? It's a wonder he survived. At our lfs the weekly betta shipment is sold out in a couple of days, guess they're becomming the latest craze over here.

We get 50 bettas every time we sell like 40 of our last batch. So we ALWAYS have bettas in stock. (their on automatic order, so we couldnt stop them if we tried! like when they sent us all the bettas and no cups to keep them in! So we stored them in party cups, for 2 weeks! (with screens ont he top to prevent jumpers) and they just kept coming! 4 ORDERS WORTH!!! @_@)
So the "ugly" ones sit there.... and we clean the bowls 3 times a week, and only week them every other day... (we found if we feed then everyday, they more stressed ones dont eat all of it, and it makes the water bad

) So actually, a guy, if he could handle the stress, could prolly sit on the shelf for the rest of his sad days.... thats when I usualy take them home.... theres another one thats been there a while, with a beige head and red fins.. not attractive, but I feel bad for him! but Im full up.
