I have a pygmy chameleon, and so have been researching about them, and their needs. (oh so many needs! lol!) I came apon a REALLY good page on lighting and thought- Well, wouldnt fish get some UVA/UVB lighting in a natural habitat? Im wondering if it would help with lifespan, colors, health, etc. just a thought...

Everyone should read the one on flourascent tubes though, its amazing how fast the deterierate! In fact, i think i may change my one on my 16 soon! And the one, how much light so reptiles need, if the one that got me thinking about the goldies. They were saying that even nocternal lizads will get some light, that enters their hideout or what not. how much light are our fish getting? how much would be bad? how much green water!!! XD

Thats why I chose my snakes...no special UVA/UVB needs. How is your little scaley friend doing? Do you hold him much? Growing?

Pictures? I don't think I have seen him yet!

my little cham isnt really the holding type... And appearently (according to the cham forum) Im a horrible monster for keeping him in his temp home, and for buying (unknown to me) a wild cought cham.. (I didnt know! I hate to get WC critters... sad.gif )

So Im feeling pretty down about him right now, but I love him to peices, and am starting on his new 'tat tonight biggrin.gif

It wasn't your fault. Toad is WC, and so is Baby, so I know how people can get.

At least your trying to keep him right, I know some people that wouldnt even do that.

He is so tiny!

he's super kewl.. and the pygmies dont need much lighting... just like a 2.0 UV... their pretty amazing critters! I would love to have a snake, but My ratties disagree biggrin.gif

I change my UV light once every six months and the lights on the tank once a year. They do deplete pretty fast and if you have a planted tank you need to keep up on the lights....

Great link hun biggrin.gif
