Aight, here I go. I have a group of plattys that are starting to grow up and reproduce. Which also means the males are fighting. I understand that I need to have 1 male per 3 females and I need to find a convinent way to accuratley find out my numbers...any help would be fantastic.

If you look at the anal fin of your fish; the males have a rod shaped anal fin, and the females have a fan shaped anal fin. The picture of the guppy above shows the rod shaped anal fin. The anal fin is the one underneath the fish near the vent.

I know that, I just need a way to efficiantly and accuratley count them.

Maybe you could put some tank water in a bucket and carefully net the males out and count them that way.
