smile.gif It's pretty cool.I once bought a Frog kit that came with two little plastic square aquariums with the same kind of tube to cross through. The frogs went through it,however the tanks I decided, were just too small to feel comfortable in using. I like the idea of it though,as long as neither of the tanks come down with some terrible disease or something. blink.gif
Fantail
That is so cool, i've always thought of how to cut a hole in the glass of two tanks and then put a tube inbetween, but this is an easier way to do it. I wish i had 2 tanks. smile.gif
fishrpets
I really like that too! smile.gif
Bubbles
Thats such a cool idea!
tinker
Oh man, i cant show this to my partner..........we'll end up with no bedrooms and just connected aquariums all over the condo........

A habitrail for fishies! smile.gif
Black oranda
smile.gif Now Thats an intresting idea!
fondoo
i wonder how he managed to get water in the bridge w/o gravity from pulling it all down.
lillypetal
omg ! Just the other day I was talking with my mum and saying how cool it would be to have a connecting tube from my 10gallon 2 my spare 3.5gallon so they have that extra bit of space! tongue.gif do your fish actually swim up to get to the other tank though im confused?
gomby119
I was wondering about the water too...I think it has to do with the water pressure...since there is water all through the tube and no air, the pressure in the tube is greater than the air pressure...kind of like if you dunk a glass in water, turn it upside down then slowly pull it up but do not remove the lid of the glass from the water, the glass itself will stay full of water even above the water line.

Just my amateur speculation though
magickzzl
thats neat! I dont agree with some of their fish being together, but that is an awsome system
Tazz Knight
I had that idea to connect two tank, but I never could figure out a good way to connect two tanks cause i never had two tanks side by side....lol..that's really cool...wonder how goldies would like that!
Merluvee
That's so cool. Wonder if my fish would be smart enough to get it?
yabbie
Well, if you have any really cheeky inquisitive goldfish, they'd lead the others. The guy who made it said his Betta went thru first and they're really cheeky about exploring nooks and crannies.

The tubes go a little way down into the tanks. You'd need that because you'd need to drop the water levels when you vacuum and the water only stays in the tube because no air can get in there.

The one in the picture pumps water out to an external filter at one and in again at the other end so the water has a small current thru the tube.

What a great idea! It must make life so much more interesting for the fish as well! If i had more space that would definately work. What happens if two fish meet each other in the tube goin the opposite way though?
d_golem
someone sticky this pls so i can get back to this thread easily yeah.gif
Tazz Knight
yeah it is a cool trend....I wish I had the space to have a similiar set up and to have a canister filter...I know my goldfish would love it..well, the smaller ones..cause I dont think my bigger goldfish would fit to well unless I got like a 8-10in diameter pipe..cause goldfish are a lot lager than bettas and gouramis...lol
yabbie
If two fat fish meet in the tube going opposite ways... the one with the current on his side is going to wait until the other one gets bored and lets him push him out backwards!
Tazz Knight
lol..that will be funny to watch....I was just thinking about having a big tube in the center of the side that would allow fish to go from tank to tank and when teh water was lower, they could not pass(which would help in thebreeding and separation processes
jimmy_396_jimmy
anyways how do cut glass?
Whirlwind
I've ALWAYS wanted to connect the tank but never was sure how. This is a great idea if I could get another tank happy.gif
Mads
That's such a fantastic idea, I love the fact that there is a current going through the pipe all the time, water is taken from one tank, filtered and then released into the other. Wow, if only I could fill my apartment with tubing, I could have my fish follow me where ever I go!, they wouldn't have to stop at the end of the tank when I walk by!

Heck, I'll just continue the piping out my front door and all the way around the block, then I could take them for 'walkies'. rofl3.gif
Marco
thats an OK idea...i wouldnt mind having a fish bridge like that, smile.gif
x-Lucy-Fish-x
could just imagine a fat little oranda gettin stuck in there hah.gif
